Traditionally, Fire and Emergency has concentrated on risk reduction and response activities. With the adoption of the widely recognised approach to emergency management: the 4Rs of reduction, readiness, response and recovery, the readiness and recovery parts are still relatively new to the organisation.

Wellington International Pride Parade organisers have made the tough decision to cancel this year’s event. They will now focus their efforts on next year’s parade, scheduled for March 2022.

Around 80+ Fire and Emergency people recently participated in the Wellington Round the Bays fun run, alongside family members, which helped make us the biggest single team entered into the event.
