Te Kauwhata Fire Brigade advises of the passing of Warren Moorfield on 16 April 2023 at Te Kauwhata.
Warren was a Senior Firefighter who served Te Kauwhata Fire Brigade for 48 years. He was a well-respected member of the Te Kauwhata community.
During the Auckland floods earlier this year, some of our brigades and members of our Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team were called to Orua Bay in Manukau Heads to rescue two people trapped within a collapsed building.
A rescue drill was held at the Ports of Auckland stormwater outfall upgrade project last month. Our National Infrastructure Advisor Jon Harris was invited to observe to learn more about the project and the safety and rescue procedures in place.

We are recruiting for Technicians and Logistics personnel for USAR. Successful applicants must have completed the CAT-1R or an equivalent course before they start the USAR CAT-2 Technicians and Logistics course.

Gisborne Fire Brigade advises of the passing of Jack Glassford on 5 April 2023. Jack was a retired Career firefighter and Region Fleet Mover. The service will be held on Saturday 8 April at 10am at Evans Funeral Chapel, 171 Ormond Road, Gisborne. Livestream link: sites. google.
Last week 24 recruits were given their wearable Tohu by DCE Piki Thomas. The Tohu is is worn to show their commitment to working with Māori as tangata whenua.
