Today was a special day for five of our people. Murray Binning (Kumeu), Wayne Martin (Kawakawa), Paul Wilkins (Murchison), Bill Harris (Clinton), and Gina Chaffey-Aupouri (Ruatōria) all received their Royal Honours from Governor General, Dame Cindy Kiro at Government House.

To the relief of upper lips across the country, Movember has finally come to a close. Stubble has been smoothed, walking shoes given a break and, most importantly, Fire and Emergency has smashed its Movember fundraising goal of $40,000.
