More of our people trained to Work Safely Around Water
We have 11,977 operational people working at Fire and Emergency and of these 9,647 had completed the Working Safely Around Water training module as at 1 July this year.
Fire Weather System – EcoConnect Application Upgrade
Our Risk Reduction and ICT teams, in partnership with NIWA and Scion Research, are planning to deploy an upgraded Fire Weather System (FWSYS) EcoConnect Application for all registered user devices and the Citrix environment during July/August 2020.
Responding safely to flooding
Flooding is New Zealand’s number one hazard for frequency, losses, and declared civil emergencies. Our online training module Working Safely Around Water will help with responding to floods.
Plantation Forestry, Fire and Emergency NZ sign charter
Fire and Emergency New Zealand signed a charter with the NZ Forest Owners Association (NZFOA) and NZ Farm Forestry Association (NZFFA) on Tuesday 15 August, ensuring clarity throughout the integration period as Fire and Emergency moves to become a fully unified, national organisation.
