Earlier this year, an Eke Taumata work programme was established to start the long-term workplace culture change needed to ensure a positive work experience for our people. Today, we have published our first Eke Taumata six-monthly progress report.
Fire and Emergency and the NZPFU are working together on a pilot that will give career firefighters and communication centre personnel access to free and confidential psychological supervision sessions.

The Waipawa Volunteer Fire brigade would like to advise the passing of Retired Firefighter, Brigade Secretary and Life Honorary Member, Henry John (Jack) McCleary QSM. Jack served for over 50 years in the Waipawa brigade receiving his 50 Year Medal.
