Today was a special day for five of our people. Murray Binning (Kumeu), Wayne Martin (Kawakawa), Paul Wilkins (Murchison), Bill Harris (Clinton), and Gina Chaffey-Aupouri (Ruatōria) all received their Royal Honours from Governor General, Dame Cindy Kiro at Government House.
Matamata Volunteer Fire Brigade advises the passing of life member & Gold Star recipient, Fire Fighter Richard (Rick) Lowe who passed away on 29/04/22.
Rick joined the brigade 29/04/1974 and resigned 24/02/2000. A service was held with family and friends on 03/05/22.

Cambridge Fire Brigade advises of the passing of CFO Don Gerrand (QSM) on 2 May 2022. Don joined the brigade on 3 November 1968, was appointed as CFO on 23 March 1994, and was awarded the QSM in 2008.
This Friday fire and emergency personnel, families and dignitaries will gather in Canberra to commemorate those who have died in the line of duty.
