Any Fire and Emergency New Zealand employee who is injured at work can access rehabilitation support through the Injury Management Unit.

Silverdale Volunteer Fire Brigade advises of the passing of Ted Fuller (Big Ted/Southern Command), on Saturday 20 August 2022. Ted served from 1972 to 1996, he spent all his service in the southern command area with many years serving the Papakura community.
Gavin Noyer (Nord)
Warkworth Volunteer Fire Brigade advises of the passing of, Gavin Noyer (Nord), on Wednesday 17 August 2022.
Gavin joined Warkworth Volunteer Fire Brigade in 1977. A service to celebrate Gavin's life will be held on Wednesday 24 August at Warkworth Fire Station at 11am.

National Incident Management Teams - the way forward
The National Incident Management Teams (NIMT) are moving to a model of a pool of nationally deployable personnel, administered by their home Regions, rather than separate teams.
Wildfire Safer Housing Guide launched
Fire and Emergency has developed the Wildfire Safer Housing Guide for homeowners living in areas at risk to wildfire. The Guide recommends ways to improve a house’s performance if it is attacked by a wildfire.
