Dave gave his life to support the Muriwai community during Cyclone Gabrielle, 14 February 2023, aged 41. Loving husband to Amy. Devoted father to George and Zara. Dave's funeral will be held on 22 February 2023 at 2pm at Parihoa Farm, 223 Constable Road, Muriwai.

Paeroa Volunteer Fire Brigade advise the passing of CFO Bill Rackham (QSM) on Sunday 22 January 2023. Bill joined the brigade on 27 September 1967 and has served as CFO for over 32 years.
Otago District advise of the passing of Divisional Officer Terry Scott. Terry joined the New Zealand Fire Service as a career firefighter in December 1962. He first served in Christchurch and then moved to Dunedin in 1979 to take up the role of Divisional Officer.
