Dave gave his life to support the Muriwai community during Cyclone Gabrielle, 14 February 2023, aged 41.

Loving husband to Amy. Devoted father to George and Zara.

Dave's funeral will be held on 22 February 2023 at 2pm at Parihoa Farm, 223 Constable Road, Muriwai.

There has been a huge outpouring of support for Dave and his family and it is appreciated that people want to come and give their respects at his funeral.

There is very limited space at the venue, and it has been requested by Dave’s family that FENZ personnel not directly involved with the incident gather to watch the online live link at their stations and show respect through a parade.

Capacity and seating at the farm will be limited, so a live stream will be available at www.dreamproductions.co.nz/davidvz(external link) for those who wish to attend remotely.

Parking will also be limited.
