The Waipawa Volunteer Fire brigade would like to advise the passing of Retired Firefighter, Brigade Secretary and Life Honorary Member, Henry John (Jack) McCleary QSM. Jack served for over 50 years in the Waipawa brigade receiving his 50 Year Medal.
We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. To acknowledge this, we offer an annual reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses. Earlier this year we increased the amount to account for recent increases to the cost of living.
We recently placed orders for five new Aerials appliances with our supplier Global Fire Solutions PTY Ltd (t/a Bronto SkyLift Ltd). The appliances are three Type 5 mediums, one Type 5 Large, and a Type 6.
Two of our people recently spent two weeks in British Colombia, Canada ‘shadowing’ Type One Incident Commanders and Incident Management Teams (IMTs).
