Motueka Fire Brigade sadly advises of the passing of retired member Gordon Dixon on 13 May 2025.
Gordon was a member of the Winton and Balfour Brigades and then a member of the Motueka Brigade, where he was made a life member.
The Canterbury District wishes to express its deepest condolences on the sudden passing of Tony Jones. Tony was a dedicated Senior Firefighter on Green Watch and prior to his retirement was a valued Volunteer Support Officer.
The Ōmārama Volunteer Fire Brigade advise with great sadness of the passing of ex-QFF Bruce Dyson. Bruce served as a firefighter and medical first responder from September 2004 to February 2025. His dedication and commitment to the Ōmārama community will be sorely missed.

Thomo’s service will be held at Zenders, 44 Hopkins Road, Newstead at 2pm on Friday 9 May.
The Mossburn Volunteer Fire Brigade advise of the passing of Gold Star Member and Retired Life Honorary Member Peter Keillor. Peter was a member of the Thornbury brigade from 1963 to 1970.
Okaiawa Volunteer Fire Brigade would like to acknowledge with sadness the passing of SFF Robert (Rob) Walden on Tuesday 29 April. Rob served in Rahotu, Ōkato, Manaia, Ōpunake and Okaiawa, rising to the rank of Senior Station Officer in his travels.
