Patea Volunteer Fire Brigade advises of the passing of ex DCFO and Life Honorary Member Joe (Doc) Bourke on Friday 14 January. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Doc’s life on Tuesday 18 January at the family farm at 4 Putahi Road, RD1, Whenuakura, Patea commencing at 1.
On 18 December 2021, Fire and Emergency was called to a vegetation fire in Waiharara, Northland. Since that afternoon we have been working alongside the Department of Conservation, our forestry partners, NZDF, Ngai Takoto iwi and the Kaimaumau community to contain the fire and prevent any loss of life or damage to property.

Ōhope Volunteer Fire Brigade advises the passing of Firefighter Julia Florence on the 14th December. Julia joined the Brigade on the 15 July 2020, completed her Volunteer Recruits Course and was a dedicated and competent fire-fighter.
