· Kevin Evans (Ruawai) – Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to wildlife conservation and the community

· Gina Blaize Chaffey-Aupouri (Tokomaru Bay) – Queen’s Service Medal for services to Maori.

Our people are regularly honoured twice a year, at New Year and at Queen’s birthday, when the Queen recognises citizens from Commonwealth countries for their exceptional service.

Congratulations to all those who have been honoured this year. Their exceptional dedication to their communities has not gone unnoticed. This is an incredible achievement and all recipients should be proud of their hard work and commitment.
