It is with immense sorrow that the Tūrangi Fire Brigade advise of the passing of Firefighter Whaea Cheri-Lu Flight. Cheri-Lu started her journey with us in June 2011 and found her happy place driving our vehicles.
Wellington District advises the passing of ex Qualified Firefighter Frank Anderson, aged 80 years, on Thursday 15 February. Frank joined Upper Hutt Fire Brigade in March 1972 with the majority of his service being at Trentham Fire Station and served until retirement in July 2010.
It is with great sadness the Nelson Marlborough District advise the passing of Ray (Mac) McKnight, Ray was a QFF at Nelson Station from 3rd October 2005 until 31st July 2011. Ray was a valued brigade member in Christchurch before his time at Nelson Station.
Wellington District advises the passing of ex Operational Support Phil Campbell, on Thursday 8 February after a short illness. Phil joined Hutt Valley Fire Police Unit in 1980 and served until 2022 and attained the rank of Station Officer.
Whanganui Fire Brigade advise of the passing of Duncan Troughton, former Senior Firefighter of Blue Watch, Whanganui on Thursday 8 February 2024. Duncan Lance Troughton joined Whanganui Brigade in October 1974 and served until November 2003. Duncan was presented with his Gold Star in 2000.
It is with sadness Ngā Tai ki te Puku region advises of the passing of former Western Bay of Plenty Rural Fire Officer Barry Low RNZAC. He was a great friend and supporter of the Tauranga Fire Brigade and founder of the Greerton Pari Wai Taraka (water tanker).
