Motueka Volunteer Fire Brigade advise of the passing of ex firefighter Nookie (Malcolm) Hannen on the 15th October 2021. Nookie was a member from 1975 to 1982 and was a keen firefighter and member of the brigade competition team.

The Motueka Volunteer Fire Brigade advise the passing of ex Station Officer Allan Hamilton on the 13th October. Allan was a life member of the Motueka Fire Brigade and a Gold Star recipient, having served at Onehunga as well as Motueka.

Wallingford Volunteer Rural Fire Brigade advise the passing of Colin Russell on Monday 4th October 2021. Colin was a very early member of the Wallingford Rural Fire Unit under the Central Hawkes Bay Rural Fire Authority before joining Fire and Emergency New Zealand in 2017.

Motueka Volunteer Fire Brigade advise of the passing of ex Firefighter Rex Simpson on Friday 17 September. Rex also served as Firemaster at Nelson Airport, and Deputy Firemaster at RNZAF Base Woodbourne serving a total of 37 years. A private service has been held at Rex’s request.
