Kaiteriteri Fire Brigade advises of the passing of ex Firefighter Neal Dorne on 21 January 2022. Neal was a foundation and life member of the Kaiteriteri Brigade. A private family cremation service followed by a memorial service was held on Tuesday 25 January.

Ōhope Volunteer Fire Brigade advises the passing of Firefighter Julia Florence on the 14th December. Julia joined the Brigade on the 15 July 2020, completed her Volunteer Recruits Course and was a dedicated and competent fire-fighter.
