Rautaki = Strategy

In August 2022 our Kaupapa Māori and Cultural Communities branch was established to lead our commitment to working with Māori as tangata whenua and support our people to better serve cultural communities across Aotearoa. We now have an opportunity to impact the organisation’s ability to meet its obligations to tāngata whenua by creating the Rautaki Māori to guide our mahi.

The Rautaki Māori is the result of 6 months of mahi with representatives from volunteer and career firefighters, different leadership levels and representatives from across each of our branches and regions. It has also been designed with Māori representatives from the community. Before we can go any further, we need to hear from our people to ensure it’s going to work for everyone.
