Fire and Emergency withdraws from Auckland Rainbow Parade

Whiria te Tāngata, Fire and Emergency’s Rainbow Network, has made the decision to withdraw its official participation in Saturday’s Auckland Rainbow Parade. 

The impact our people have felt both personally and professionally from the events of the past few weeks has been immense, including both the flooding from the Auckland weather event and the effects of Cyclone Gabrielle. 

Withdrawing our official participation from the parade will allow our people the time to focus our energy on the mahi we have around the recovery from these events. 

The Whiria te Tāngata team would like to say a heartfelt “Thank You” to everyone who helped, registered their interest, and supported our Communities in preparation for the Auckland Rainbow Parade and the greater work of the network.
