Dave Thompson

Lower Hutt Fire Brigade advise the passing of Dave Thompson Wednesday 12 July 2023 aged 77.

Dave was adamant he didn’t want a funeral and he was cremated on Thursday 13 July 2023.

Dave started his career in the fire service as a messenger in the Stokes Valley Brigade at the age of 14, serving from 1960 to 1964 when he joined the Lower Hutt Brigade as a permanent on the 24 hour system.

In 1988 Dave transferred to Dunedin Brigade returning to the Wellington Brigade in 1989. In 1996 Dave became a member of the Hutt Wairarapa Operational Support Unit until 1997 when he joined the Levin Brigade and for a short period after that he was a member of the Foxton Beach Brigade.

In December 2004 Dave service records unexplainable stopped with 42 years 6 months service.
