Next week is Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu National Volunteer Week! An opportunity for us to say “three cheers to the volunteers”, their whānau, employers, supporters and all those who work alongside them.

This year’s campaign theme focuses on teamwork, to celebrate the collective contribution of our volunteers, and will feature volunteer brigades from different regions. While you’re out across the motu, you may see or hear our targeted media campaign, focusing on ‘Three cheers for Fire and Emergency volunteers’, highlighting how valuable they are as a team in their communities. We will also be encouraging the general public to thank our volunteers and raising their awareness of the role volunteers play in keeping our communities safe.

Help us celebrate our volunteers

You can access the resources you can use to get involved this National Volunteer Week on the portal. Please share them on your own social media or with your networks from Monday.

From Monday we’ll also have mini profiles of some of our volunteer brigades and we’ll be celebrating our volunteers on Facebook(external link) and Instagram(external link).
