Our firefighters are regularly honoured when the Queen recognises citizens from Commonwealth countries for their exceptional service at New Year and on the observation of her birthday.

Those recognised today have all made a huge difference to the lives of people in their communities and Fire and Emergency New Zealand. This acknowledgement of their hard work, dedication and achievements over many years to make their communities stronger, safer and more resilient makes us immensely proud.

On behalf of all New Zealanders, I would like to congratulate them all on receiving this very special honour.
