Keith Askew

Plimmerton Volunteer Fire Brigade advise of the passing of Life Member and former Chief Fire Officer Keith Askew on 14 July 2023.

Keith joined the Brigade in 1954 and served at Chief from 1966 until his retirement in 1986.  He was the last surviving brigade member involved in relocating the current station building (a WW2 radar station) from its original location on Paekakariki Hill to Sunset Parade in the mid-1950s.

Keith served Plimmerton for decades, and was a huge force in shaping who we remain to this day. His funeral will be held at the Plimmerton Boating Club on Friday 21 July at 11am.
