Career:
Career personnel are to remove the standard issue mask (keeping it contained within mask bag) and ensure it is easily accessible on the appliance in a dry, known location for other personnel to use should it be needed.

QFF Will Mahuru is recovering at home following his accident at Birkenhead Station on Thursday 30 May. Will has advised that he is healing well following the operations he has had on his lower leg.

There has been a number of questions regarding Increased wear to Aluminium Trussed Rescue Ladders. The notice 010/2019 dated 06/05/19 on the portal outlined instructions regarding limiting the ladders use “until” it had been inspected. All region 1 ladders have been inspected.

On 9 July, 2019 it will be 25 years since Firefighter Jim Hughes was tragically killed on duty whilst attending an incident on the Northern Motorway. A remembrance ceremony will be held at the Birkenhead Fire Station at 0930 hours on Tuesday 9 July, 2019.
