The Board has recently approved our updated Statement of Intent (SOI) for 2023 – 2027 and our Statement of Performance Expectations (SPE) for 2023/2024.

Both documents are statutory obligations under the Crown Entities Act. Our Statement of Intent sets out how we intend to create increasing public value for the communities we serve through our mahi over the medium to long term.

The Statement of Performance Expectations is released annually and describes the services and key initiatives we will deliver in this financial year as well as the details of how we will measure our performance.

Both documents are designed to complement each other alongside our National Strategy 2019 – 2045.

In consideration of the increasing challenges we face in our work and context, such as severe weather events, technological change, economic uncertainty, and the changing needs of our communities, the Board has outlined the following three strategic priorities:

  • Delivering for Aotearoa by working closely with others to reduce the risk of fire and prepare for emergencies.
  • Developing our people by building a safe, positive and inclusive workplace for our people.
  • Building our business by having the resources and processes to meet the needs of the communities we serve into the future.
