Fire and Emergency has a new travel team – Sarah Gregory and Dawn Campion – who are based at NHQ.

Sarah is Team Lead for the Travel Office and has been with us for about eight weeks. She came to Fire and Emergency from a corporate travel agency, APX Travel, where she was Operations Team Manager looking after a team that booked domestic and international travel. She has been in the travel industry for 15 years.

Sarah loves travelling and has done a lot but there are still two places on her bucket list.

“I lived in Italy for six months and am now continuing to learn Italian. My favourite places are Vietnam, Cambodia, Budapest, and Salzburg. When it is easier to travel again, I would really like to go to South America and safari in South Africa. I also like walking, hiking, dancing, and netball.”

Sarah says working at Fire and Emergency is ‘great’.

“Everyone has been super friendly and welcoming. It is a big change to come to a large organisation – I am still learning people’s names.”

Dawn is our new travel consultant and has been with us for four weeks. Dawn lived in Edinburgh for two years but decided to come home and arrived back here in May. She has also worked as an Assistant Team Leader at Flight Centre in Canberra.

Dawn is also enjoying her new role at Fire and Emergency.

“I really like it here, the people are lovely and friendly. It is nice to get back into an office and see people face to face after one and a half years working at home.”

Dawn says she is a ‘real foodie’ and enjoys different cuisines. She also likes walking and music festivals.

Sarah and Dawn encourage people to pop in and see them on the 12th floor of NHQ or get in touch via phone or email. They are happy to go through bookings and costings and can help check and plan things with you.

They also want everyone to know that Air New Zealand has changed its fare structure. Its domestic COVID-19 flexibility policy expires on 31 October and its normal fare rules will resume on 1 November. The new structure is designed to help provide more options for travel flexibility under normal fare rules. Should a flight be cancelled due to Alert Level changes, all domestic tickets will still be credited back to Fire and Emergency. The new fare structure is on the Portal.

Finally, the team has put together some guidance for our travel bookers who are booking group travel and accommodation. This is also on the Portal.
