As we approach the tenth anniversary of the Christchurch earthquake, several media outlets have begun running stories and coverage about the earthquake and its enduring impacts.

Some of this coverage features our staff, past and present. This includes a series of six podcasts that Stuff has produced about the CTV rescue efforts and the subsequent coronial enquiry. The first of these was uploaded to the Stuff website today. Dave Berry, Paul Burns and Paul Rodwell were interviewed for the podcast, which also includes archival interviews and testimony from the coroner’s hearing.

Radio New Zealand has also produced a series of podcasts about the rescue efforts in Christchurch in the immediate aftermath of the earthquakes. These include archival interviews with Dave Berry and Steve Kennedy.

On 21 February TVNZ’s Sunday programme will feature an item about our firefighters and USAR’s rescue efforts. It features interviews with Richard Humphreys and former firefighter Simon Payton.

Fire and Emergency will be represented at the official commemoration service in Christchurch on Monday 22 February and we will have more information about this next week.
