The Behaviour and Conduct Office will close on 4.00pm on Friday 22 December 2023 and will reopen at 8.00am Wednesday 03 January 2024.

During this period the established cover arrangements will apply.  

If you need to raise an issue that is urgent or requires urgent attention, contact COMCEN and request the on-call Executive Officer contact you back.

If you have an enquiry or issue you want to raise and it is not urgent, email BCO@fireandemergency.nz and the BCO will get back to you once the office reopens.

The 0800 number will not be monitored over this period.

Safety, health and wellbeing services(external link) including Vitae are available over the break too. So, if you need support you can still access it.

While we are working to stand up our new service for managing enquiries and complaints, the BCO continues to operate. Wherever possible the BCO is being managed in line with the principles of the new model, including increased use of external investigators. Any issues raised with the BCO will be managed effectively during and after the transition so there will be continuity.

Our new service will be in operation in early 2024. We are working alongside our new provider to ensure the service they provide will meet our needs. It is important to us that we take the time to get this right.
