We recently introduced the Kotahitanga Community Engagement Framework - a simple, practical tool that has been designed to enhance the mahi our people are already doing and make our engagement activities easier, more efficient, and more effective.

It has been co-designed by our people, for our people, and works for all real-life engagement scenarios, from national campaigns, to local community initiatives, to ad-hoc conversations and interactions with people on the street.

It takes the guesswork out of engagement planning and provides guidance to developing an engagement approach that’s fit for purpose and will lead to positive outcomes for the community as well as Fire and Emergency and our community partners.

The framework will enable community members and our community partners to play a more collaborative role in engagement design, resulting in a more holistic approach that’s tailored to the community’s needs.

It’ll also create consistency in the development of our engagements across the motu and therefore more meaningful measurement.

More information about the framework can be found on the Portal.(external link)
