Today we’re launching our new career recruitment campaign video, fronted and narrated by our own firefighters from around New Zealand. The video is based on what you told us about your motivations and experiences on becoming career firefighters – some of you may even recognise your own words in the script.

The video is currently being promoted in Auckland and will be used in our nationwide recruitment rounds from July.

Research behind our new career recruitment campaign

We want to attract the best people to our organisation. People who are best suited to serve their communities, and will be most fulfilled in their work.

Over the last 12 months, we have conducted several phases of qualitative research, involving people from all areas of the organisation, as well as members of the public who could be part of our crew.

Through this research we have identified a new overarching recruitment positioning that can be adapted for recruiting career firefighters, corporate staff, or attracting volunteers.

The message is Join Fire and Emergency. It’s life changing.

The message works on two levels – we know the lives of our people are changed when they join Fire and Emergency, and we know our people change the lives of others through their work.
