Children’s Day or Te Rā O Ngā Tamariki is coming up on 7 March, and it’s a great opportunity to celebrate the tamaraki in your community.

Many children look up to firefighters, and that likely isn’t news to you with the many waves you get while you’re driving through your community.

You could check out what other events are happening in your community that you could join in on or perhaps create your own such as a station open day .

National Manager Community Readiness and Recovery Steve Turek says, “Getting children on board with our fire safety messages helps to teach children about the hazards relating to fire from a young age, and supporting Children’s Day is a fun way to get this message out. “
