[Audio] Waha Kōrero: An interview with retired Firefighter Peter Stokes
In January this year, Senior Firefighter for Devonport Station Peter Stokes officially retired after serving his community for nearly 40 years.
"Waha Kōrero" refers to "The Voice", and in time with the 150 year celebrations of Firefighting in Tāmaki Makaurau, we caught up with Peter to capture his kōrero as he reflects on his time and the many changes he's seen including the improvement of diversity and support for mental health.
