Crews can select ‘battery’ as a cause type, choose from various causes of battery fire, such as overheating or physical damage, and select a specific heat source, such as mobile phone, electric vehicle or vape/smoking device. If these are unknown or the specific option doesn’t exist in the pre-determined menu, crews will be able to manually add this information into the ‘comments’ tab of the SMS incident report.
