Transdev Auckland operations group have advised Fire and Emergency that they are about to roll out a modification to the external emergency door release (Egress) handle on their fleet of electric trains.

A Volunteer Firefighter from the Te Atatu Fire Station was unknowingly exposed to the measles virus at the beginning of August. Fortunately their interaction with other members of Fire and Emergency was limited for a period of ten days or more from the original exposure.

The decision has been made to withdraw the fire safety message balloons that are currently available through online ordering. An unintended consequence of handing out these balloons to the public was that a number of them were discarded incorrectly and ended up polluting the marine environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF STAFF WITH PERSONAL ISSUE MASKS
Career:
Career personnel are to remove the standard issue mask (keeping it contained within mask bag) and ensure it is easily accessible on the appliance in a dry, known location for other personnel to use should it be needed.
