Control of motorway on-ramp traffic signals
Traffic congestion on motorway on-ramps can cause a significant delay to appliances responding to incidents. Auckland’s Joint Transport Operations Centre(JTOC) utilise traffic signals to filter traffic onto the motorway system throughout the region. Control of those signals is managed in their operations centre.

The 9th of April 1984 saw Andy Lockyear start in the Titirangi Volunteer Fire Brigade. Andy turned his service into a career, commencing a recruits course in April 1987. Over 34 years later, Andy leaves New Zealand Fire Service, now Fire and Emergency New Zealand, retiring on 27th June.

For several years now, Graeme Hoole of the Putaruru Volunteer Fire Brigade has represented the volunteers of Central Lakes as their representative on the Area Safety and Wellbeing Committee. He has then also represented all volunteers as the UFBA representative on the Region 2 committee.

This notice is to clarify the Hazmat/Decontamination Capability of
Auckland City 2018 and Otara 3318. The decontamination corridors are currently no longer carried on these appliances. Auckland City 2018 and Otara 3318 do carry equipment for deployment of functional decontamination showers to meet our operational needs.
