For a number of years now we have been carrying out Home Fire Safety Visits (HFSV) on homes within our communities.

The decision has been made to withdraw the fire safety message balloons that are currently available through online ordering. An unintended consequence of handing out these balloons to the public was that a number of them were discarded incorrectly and ended up polluting the marine environment.

We are celebrating the success of individuals, groups, and teams who have demonstrated excellence, contributed to our organisation and community. Anyone who works within Te Hiku region, including corporate staff, career or volunteer personnel can be nominated for these awards.

Career personnel are to remove the standard issue mask (keeping it contained within mask bag) and ensure it is easily accessible on the appliance in a dry, known location for other personnel to use should it be needed.
