Fire and Emergency New Zealand funds annual influenza vaccinations for all paid staff. Nurses contracted to Medpro Healthcare will provide this service as i previous years. Crews are invited to attend cluster stations on the dates and times in the attached schedule.

Operational considerations at Chemical Suicides
Region One has attended several chemical poisoning suicides over the last five years. These are predominately hydrogen sulphide (H2S) or Helium (He) but may include Cyanide (HCN) poisoning, although the constituent chemicals for HCN are more difficult to obtain.

We are pleased to announce that Steve (Stephen) McRostie has started as the new Regional Telecoms Specialist – Northern. Steve is replacing Neil Wilson and has officially started in the role from 28 January 2019. Neil will continue to provide support during February to assist in hand over.
