BACKGROUND
For some time, there has been confusion between Mangere Airport 361 (MANG361) and Mangere 351 (MANG351) as both often respond to the same incident in and around Auckland International Airport Limited (AIAL).

During the makeup of a hose reel at an incident, a firefighters thumb was cut through their level 1 gloves by glass fragments that had become embedded in the hose reel tubing.

With the new medical kits being delivered it is an important reminder regarding First Aid Supplies. Some Appliances will be using the new Medical Oxygen INHALO. St Johns are still using the old cylinders, therefore you will need to ensure you retain your cylinders when St Johns transport patients.

As you’re aware, we’ve been working towards implementing Safe@Work, our new Safety Health and Wellbeing recording and reporting tool. From April 2nd our region will no longer use AERIK and all real events will need to be recorded using the Safe@Work tool.

Schedule for 1st round of drill audits. The Audit will be carried out at the Regional Training Centre by Area 4 management. Audit will be single pump, scenario based drills looking at OIC duties, BA skills, hose drills, pump operation, ECO duties and general firefighting skills.
