There have been a number of incidents already this year where Fire & Emergency personnel in our Area have reported suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation where Breathing Apparatus (BA) was not being used.

043/2018: Interim face masks for vegetation fires

If you have printed out the earlier notice, please replace with this copy.All operational personnel are advised to follow this information for fitting and wearing a P2 respiratory mask if responding to vegetation fires, if not already wearing an APR. R1-053/2018: Area 5 Counties-Manukau - Bi-Annual Physical Competency Assessments (PCA)
Physical Competency Assessments (PCAs) are due again and are required to be completed by 30th June. Jeff Shrimpton is coordinating this as per the attached schedule. Senior Station Officer’s will coordinate appliance movements on the day to ensure Area coverage and any operational requirements are met.
