Applications are sought from suitably qualified personnel for a 12-month firefighter(s) secondment opportunity based at Whangarei Fire Station (Area 2 Te Hiku) starting in March 2020.
Due to operational requirements preference will be given to firefighters who are able to demonstrate that they:
are Grade 1 driver qualified.

Please see the time table (below) for the PCA practice runs to be held at Papatoetoe Fire Station. All Officers are to liaise with their SSO as some days may need changing to accommodate other training.

This notice is to provide advice to our fire fighters in Area’s 3, 4 & 5 of the critical fire conditions being experienced due to the ongoing drought in Auckland. Northland is worse off in that acute water shortages are also being experienced, in additional to very dry conditions.
I am pleased to announce Mel Johnson as the new Welfare Officer for Te Hiku region. Mel has worked for the Department of Corrections for the last twelve years and has held the position of Staff Welfare Coordinator for the Northern Region since 2013.

All firefighters are advised to use the following while cleaning their wildland helmets:
Remove all soft components from the helmet, i. e. neck protector, leather/merino sweat pads from the headband and nape strap.
This is an interim notice on wearing event-specific uniform items.
