We understand that some personnel may be using the lightweight wildland helmet neck protector on their structural firefighting helmet. The wildland helmet neck protector does not provide adequate thermal or physical protection in structural fires.

Check your training facilities, fire station buildings and appliances (including relief trucks) for the portable Class B foam fire extinguishers. Remove them from service and notify your Region Equipment and Logistics Manager that you have found some, their location and their condition.
