Operational Support personnel make an extremely valuable contribution to Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s response to fire and other emergencies.
For 1 July 2017, all operational personnel (officers and qualified firefighters) were authorised under the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017 to exercise powers to respond to all emergency types.
All operational personnel must read and follow this policy when responding to fires and designated emergencies across boundaries.
