Area 3 transfer decisions.
While the drought in Te Hiku region continues, the recent scattered rainfall has allowed us to remove the second alarm response. The Fire Fuel moisture content (FFMC) has lowered so fire ignition should be less and slower in speed. However, it is still a Prohibited Fire Season.
Expressions of Interest from Career staff across areas 3,4 & 5 of Region Te Hiku to fill the vacant seconded position in Fire Risk Management.
Applications are sought from suitably qualified personnel for a 12-month firefighter(s) secondment opportunity based at Whangarei Fire Station (Area 2 Te Hiku) starting in March 2020.
Due to operational requirements preference will be given to firefighters who are able to demonstrate that they:
are Grade 1 driver qualified.
