Fire Weather System Registration Form

NIWA provides weather data, fire weather indices (FWI) and other weather related products and services to Fire and Emergency NZ. These are mostly delivered through https://fireweather.niwa.co.nz/(external link) and the EcoConnect application.

While Fire and Emergency NZ personnel have full access to any these products and services, due to licencing restrictions access for other stakeholders or partner agencies of Fire and Emergency NZ is restricted.

Depending on the purpose for wanting access to EcoConnect will determine whether this access is able to be granted.

EcoConnect is generally for people who need more detailed weather and FWI data for analysis, and requires some training to get the full potential from the application.

It is therefore not an application that all users will want or should need, with most of the information available publicly on https://fireweather.niwa.co.nz(external link).

EcoConnect users also need to understand the terms and conditions of how they use the service and what they can and cannot do with the information in it. Please read these prior to completing a request for access.
