Volunteer brigades manage their own membership, with regard to establishment vacancies and recruitment procedures. Each brigade may accept or decline members in accordance with its current state and procedures.

Volunteers must notify their brigade leader if they wish to join another brigade.

The receiving brigade leader or recruitment panel will complete the transfer form on e-Recruit(external link) with their new volunteer member. It’s good practice to contact the brigade leader of the exiting brigade, to find out more about the volunteer and their experience.

If a volunteer has been out of the service for less than a year, they're not required to repeat medical/security testing but their skills will have to be revalidated through the re-engagement process.

Volunteers who are moving towns and would like to continue volunteering, can look on Smart Maps(external link) to find the closest brigade to their new location and refer to the Brigade Index for contact details.
