The annual Wellington Pride Parade takes place on Saturday 7 March and celebrates the rich cultural diversity of the community we serve and offers a chance to bring our people together, have fun, and highlight issues relevant to rainbow communities on both a local and international level.
The theme for 2020 is – Water! Dive into your Pride |Te Wai – Tō Mana. Whakarukuhia! Aimed at promoting water, life, motion, renewal, reflection, growth, and encouraging creativity.
Last year around 50 Fire and Emergency personnel across Aotearoa and their families marched down Courtenay Place alongside three kitted out fire appliances that sounded their sirens and sprayed crowds with water.
This year we would like you to join us as we celebrate our communities in and out of Fire and Emergency. Thanks to all those who’ve signed up, including regional management. There are limited spots available so if you want to take part but haven’t registered yet, please contact Pride@fireandemergency.nz. Once registered, we will email you with more detailed information about the day.
We encourage you to wear uniforms. We’ll also have some Fire and Emergency PRIDE t-shirts for those who have registered.
