Welcoming Aidan Crawford as our newest Pou Takawaenga - Te Ūpoko
On 28 April, we welcomed Aidan Crawford and his whānau to Fire and Emergency with a pōwhiri, marking the beginning of Aidan’s journey as our new Pou Takawaenga Māori Matua (Māori Liaison) for Te Ūpoko.
Aidan will be joining the Te Ūpoko Leadership Team in Wellington, where his fresh perspective and deep understanding of tikanga Māori will help shape our decision-making processes.
As Pou Takawaenga Māori Matua, Aidan will play a pivotal role in strengthening our relationships with Māori communities across Te Ūpoko. His leadership will be instrumental to the mahi we do to reduce the incidence and impact of fire, forging partnerships that are built on trust, respect and shared purpose.
Nau mai haere mai, Aidan!
