Following the release of Te Kawa Mataaho(external link) Public Service Commission’s independent review of Fire and Emergency’s workplace culture and complaint handling practices, Te Tari Taiwhenua(external link) the Department of Internal Affairs have now provided advice to the Minister on recommendation 14.

Given the findings of the review it is clear that Fire and Emergency New Zealand now need to engage in a focused review of our complaints management framework, primarily the Behaviour Conduct function.

We will continue to engage with key stakeholders including those directly impacted and keep you updated in due course.

The services from the Behaviour Conduct Office continue as business-as-usual and we encourage our people to continue utilising support services and channels when needed.
