As we indicated on the Portal last week, our new travel booking pilot starts today.

The six-month pilot will run with an internal dedicated travel booking team of two based at NHQ. For the first three months (September to December 2020), the team will do bookings for NHQ and in the second three months (January to March 2021) will bring in bookings for ELT and Te Ihu.

There is a Portal page dedicated to the travel pilot which provides you with all the information you need including:

  • new guidelines for travel
  • how to determine what necessary travel is
  • the new way to request travel (via a travel form on the Portal)
  • details about the four-week amnesty on the requirement to book at least 21 days in advance of travel
  • contact details for the new travel office
  • Qs and As.

These changes do not apply to travel for major incident and campaign fire support and NTC will continue to book all training-related travel.

Read the Portal story about why we are introducing the pilot travel booking team.
