Woodville Volunteer Fire Brigade and Te Matau-a-Māui District advise of the passing of Volunteer Support Officer and Chief Fire Officer Steve Peretini on 9 January 2023.

Steve served 43 years as a member of New Zealand’s Fire and Rescue Community starting with the NZ Defence Force then transitioning to NZ Fire Service in 1999. Over this period Steve spent 21 years as a mentor to volunteer firefighters, helping to grow their skills and confidence  – ‘Awesome job, awesome people!’

Steve is currently at rest at the family home – 136 Vogel Street, Woodville. Each evening there will be karakia at the family home at 7pm – all are welcome

On Thursday night 12th Jan the poroporoaki will take place at the family home – all are welcome

Service will be at the Woodville Sports Centre, 64 Ross Street, Friday 13th Jan, 1030hrs.  Service uniform – no caps. At 1300hrs Steve will depart Woodville for Waiouru cemetery where he will be laid to rest.  Everyone is welcome to travel to Waiouru.

On return that evening there will be a BBQ at Steve’s and Marion’s family home in Woodville
