The Fluorine-free Foam Transition Project (FFFT) was established in 2021, to manage the transition of Fire and Emergency from the use of Class B foam that contains PFAS (per-and-poly fluoroalkyl substances) to fluorine-free alternatives. Solberg Versagard AS-100 fluorine free foam has been selected to replace the PFAS Class B. Versagard foam will be distributed to the regions during 2022. The distribution will be supported by information and training concerning when and how to use this foam.

The project is looking for a fixed term foam trainer. The purpose of the fixed term trainer role is to develop training resources/content, and facilitate, deliver and lead training skills and capability to trainers and operational personnel of Fire and Emergency New Zealand. This will ensure the safe, effective and efficient use of fluorine free Class B foam.
